Hoka Hey SITREP #2

This screen shot taken at 12:14 Eastern on Aug 15th shows the distribution of riders along the serpentine path which eventually covers all 48 lower states. Rider #703 (man-beast) has a commanding lead. My bud Keith (#616) is in that cluster west of Madison, WI.

Have a look in real time: http://www.usft.com/hokahey/

Looks like both the riders still in AZ as of the last SITREP have been scratched. There are about 128 rider numbers left on the map, and I cannot find either #623 or 664. Missing also is #606, one of the two riders in TX on Aug 13th. The other Texas hold-out (#22) may be waiting to tuck in behind #703 in Houston! That's OK, by the way. There is no requirement to ride the full 10,000 miles. There are a whole bunch of rules one must follow to actually win the race, but if'n ya pays yer entry fee, you can ride as much or as little as you like.

I wish I knew more about the route through Virginia on the way up to the finish line in Nova Scotia. I'd like to ride along as for part of the way, or at least be in place to cheer Keith on. I am tempted to ride down to Rocky Mount Harley in Rocky Mount, NC.

What a race!

Go, Keith, GO!!!
